Green Beaver Toothpaste Review

If you are interested in switching to a more natural toothpaste option, Green Beaver is a great choice.

It comes in great flavors for kids and adults alike and it doesn’t taste gritty which is what I’ve found with some all-natural brands.

About The Green Beaver Toothpaste

my green beaver toothpaste review

Green Beaver is a natural, vegan-friendly toothpaste made from all-natural ingredients.

It’s fluoride free and won’t harm your teeth or mouth!

I found that this toothpaste will keep your mouth feeling fresh all day without harmful ingredients that are found in regular toothpaste brands.

The nice thing about this toothpaste is that it comes in lots of different flavours so there is something for the whole family:

There are two different types of toothpaste available – naturapeutic and regular fluoride free.

The Fluoride-free toothpastes contain calcium and antioxidant vitamin C which help you maintain good oral hygiene health.

They come in a range of different flavors:

  • Cinnamon
  • Spearmint
  • Coriander-mint
  • Star Anise
  • Sensitive
  • Frosty Mint
  • Green Apple
  • Zesty Orange

The natural range of toothpastes contain calcium, papaya extract and xylitol, a natural ingredient derived from birch that helps prevent cavities. They come in a few different options:

  • Enamel Protect
  • Sensitive Naturapeutic
  • Ultra-whitening

And for kids there are two different options, both in the naturapeutic range:

  • Bubblegum flavour
  • Strawberry Flavour

My two kids were huge fans of the bubblegum flavour and immediately decided that was their new favorite toothpaste.

Personally I tried the ultra-whitening and the green apple and I loved the minty flavour of the whitening toothpaste.

As a Brit I don’t have the best teeth so I was happy to find a natural option that also prevents cavities.

Green Beaver Toothpaste Ingredients

I’ve told you what isn’t in Green Beaver (nasty chemicals) but what are the ingredients of this all-natural option and are they effective at maintaining oral health?

The 100% natural ultra-whitening natural toothpaste contains the following ingredients:

Medicinal Ingredients

Xylitol 20%, Calcium Hydroxyapatite 4.25%

Non-Medicinal Ingredients

Aqua, Calcium Carbonate, Sorbitol, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Essential Oil, Menthol, Hydrated Silica, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Maltodextrin, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract.

What is the whitening ingredient in the Ultra White Toothpaste?

Papaya is the natural ingredient in the whitening toothpaste that claims to whiten your teeth in as little as 3 days. I used it for a week and definitely noticed brighter teeth with less stains!

Plus it didn’t make my teeth super sensitive like regular whitening products do.

What Is Xylitol?

As I mentioned above, xylitol is a natural ingredient from the birch plant. It is sometimes called birch sugar.

According to WebMD, Xylitol tastes sweet but, unlike sugar, it is not converted in the mouth to acids that cause tooth decay.

It reduces levels of decay-causing bacteria in saliva which is why is can help prevent cavities.

What Is Calcium Hydroxyapatite?

Calcium hydroxyapatite is a form of calcium that makes up the majority of your tooth structure. It’s what makes your teeth strong and hard.

The biggest advantage of  hydroxyapatite (HAp) toothpaste is that it helps rebuild tooth structure without any known side effects (unlike Fluoride).

This 2019 Study showed that toothpaste containing hydroxyapatite is equivalent or non-inferior to fluoride toothpaste with respect to remineralization of small cavities and the prevention of new ones.

In fact, many dental offices actually recommend that their patients use a toothpaste containing HAp to prevent cavities.

Is Green Beaver Toothpaste Safe For My Kids To Use?

is Green beaver toothpaste safe?

Green Beaver’s Naturapeutic Toothpastes the only toothpastes approved by Health Canada to claim that they prevent cavities and tooth decay without fluoride but are they safe?

The Kids’ line of Naturapeutic toothpaste is 100% natural, fluoride free, and safe for toddlers and kids to swallow.

My kids have a habit of swallowing their toothpaste instead of rinsing it out so this was a huge concern for me.

The flavors are also completely natural – the Strawberry flavour is made from real strawberries, and the Bubble Gum flavour is made from real cherries (don’t tell my kids!).

Where Can I Buy Green Beaver Toothpaste?
