Can you really improve your egg quality in 30 days? Read on for tips and tricks plus a free ebook on what you can do now.
One of the most common reasons women struggle to get pregnant is poor egg quality.
Many women have lots of eggs but for some reason don’t get pregnant easily. The sad truth is that you only need one egg to get pregnant but that egg has to be healthy and ready to be fertilized.
Women who have completed IVF cycles know that you may get up to 20 mature follicles at egg retrieval.
Unfortunately even cycles that produce that many follicles can result in no fertilized blasts to implant. Egg quality is often to blame.
Luckily there are quite a lot of things you can do to improve your egg quality naturally. (make sure to scroll down and sign up for the free ebook about improving your egg quality).

While you cannot make your body produce more eggs (without fertility medicines), it is possible to improve the eggs you do have with diet changes and simple tricks.
The tips below and in the free ebook download can help you to boost your egg quality with PCOS or unexplained fertility.
Bear in mind that if you have underlying fertility issues or are dealing with low sperm count, you will want to tackle those issues too.
How is egg quality measured?
There really isn’t a test to show you what kind of quality you are dealing with. FSH and AMH tests are the most common benchmarks for fertility but they only show your egg count in general (AMH) and your monthly potential mature follicles (FSH).
Most women don’t find out their egg quality is lacking until they do an IVF cycle.
If you have great FSH and AMH numbers with no diagnosed fertility issues then egg quality may be the problem.
Is it really possible to improve your egg quality in 30 days?
While you can certainly see amazing results in 30 days, follicles take a full 90 days to mature so for optimal results you want to start working on your egg quality 3 months before an IVF or IUI cycle.
That being said, many women notice a marked improvement in egg quality at IVF retrieval after just 30 days of diet and lifestyle changes.
If you are reading this now and have an upcoming treatment cycle in less than 90 days, it really can only help to start making egg quality changes now.
How to Improve Egg quality after 40
Women over 40 often worry about their egg quality as it is true that the older you are, the lower the quality of your eggs.
According to studies of embryos created from eggs of different ages, women in their early 20s have about 20% abnormal eggs, while women in their 40s have upwards of 80% abnormal eggs. This decline in egg quality and fertility is seen across populations. Source: Extend Fertility
However, it’s not all bad news. Remember that it really only takes one egg to get pregnant and there are tons of success stories of women over 40 getting pregnant naturally.
5 Tips Improve Your Egg Quality In 30 Days
1. Start Taking Co-enzyme Q10
Co-enzyme Q10 is a natural way to improve your fertility and it has a ton of other health benefits too. CoQ10 that has already been converted to its active form, ubiquinol is the type to look for as it is absorbed more easily.
2. Cut Out Caffeine
Although the jury is officially out on how much caffeine affects fertility, if you really want to improve your egg quality fast, it makes sense to drop the caffeine. This is especially true if you are getting ready for an IVF or IUI cycle.
Switching to decaf can be rough at first but if you need motivation, remember that you would have to cut it out during pregnancy anyway!
3. Eat More Protein
One of the founding principles of the The Fertility Diet that I followed to improve my fertility naturally was to increase my protein intake to around 20-25% of my daily diet. Research has shown that egg quality can be improved by lowering carb intake and increasing protein levels.
This may also be one of the reasons that people recommend the high protein Keto Diet For PCOS and Infertility.
4. Say No To Sugar
This tip goes hand in hand with eating fewer carbs. Sugar intake may affect your egg quality so the less you eat, the better for your fertility.
There are so many hidden sugars in our diet that it can be a drastic change. I recommend starting with the obvious ones like candy, sugar in your tea and even sugary yoghurts and cereals. Then work towards cutting out processed foods and even check things like jarred pasta sauce which often contains sugar.
When you first cut out sugar, you may find you experience a detox hangover. Here are some tips for cutting out sugar painlessly.
5. Reduce Environmental Hazards
Although it’s unclear how much damage they do, chemicals in beauty products, cleaning fluids and other household items can damage your eggs at the cellular level and affect your fertility in the long term.
Try switching to natural products or even make your own cleaners with white vinegar and essential oils. You can also consider doing a fertility cleanse or detox.
For an added bonus, use some of the essential oils for fertility in your homemade products. That way you are improving your fertility while you clean!
